We often hear that Revit MEP cannot distribute power from feeder panels into a main distribution panel. Hopefully these posts will help clear up that misunderstanding!
In this the first of a two part series we will explore how Lighting and Appliance Panel Boards in Revit MEP contain electrical connectors that establish the panel’s loading capability and allow them to be circuited into another panel with an equivalent assigned Distribution System.
Here’s a breakdown of the process when all of the panels have an equivalent distribution system:
By creating a power circuit for LP-1 we can transfer it’s total estimated demand load to MD-1, the main distribution panel.
… and now we can see the combined loads of panels LP-1 and LP-2 together on MD-1.
For part 2 of this series, we'll look at transformers and their role in distributing panel loads of unequal values to our central electrical panel.
