You may have thought that it would be nice if particular functionality that exists in Microsoft Windows, Word, your browser, or social media sites, etc. could exist in Windchill PDMLink to help save you time. In fact some of this functionality does exist already. In the table below, Windchill PDMLink features that can help boost your productivity are shown with reference to functions that are similar in other software or apps.
Below is additional information about the benefits of these features and how to use them:
- Recently Accessed
The Recently Accessed link provides a list of all of the objects that you have recently viewed, providing quick access to them. The last one accessed is displayed at the top of the list.
- My Notebook/Hotlinks
The Notebook page provides a location for collecting and organizing links related to your work. The Notebook page can be accessed in the Home page or the Quick Links drop-down list. Some actions that you can perform in My Notebook:
Upload File: Upload a file to store in WIndchill PDMLink for personal access.
New Folder: Create folders to organize your Notebook.
New Link: Create links to pages inside and outside of the Windchill PDMLink environment.
- Saved Searches
Once you have received the search results, you can save the search criteria so that you can perform the search again. From the Search Results page, click Save This Search. The searches can be accessed from the search text box.
You can subscribe to objects (such as CAD Documents) so that you are notified of any changes that occur. The Subscribe command can be found in an object’s details page under the Actions menu. You will be prompted to select the Events for notification such as Check In/Check Out, Revise, Markup, etc. You can also specify the users to be notified.
- Email Page
The Email Page link provides a quick way of updating team members with information from Windchill PDMLink.
