Call for Presentations - BIM Spectrum

We're looking for a few good speakers—are you one of them? This is your call to become part of BIM Spectrum—a Virtual Event on August 17, 2011 devoted to covering models of every span, scope and size. Our first event in February had over 1,700 registrants and more than 1,200 attendees. We partnered with software providers to showcase how technology can help people get more from their building information models.

This time around we're looking for clients who have done something different with BIM and are willing to share. Are you a pioneer in BIM-land? We want to hear from you. We're looking for stories about how you went about creating a BIM process, what tools you're using and how it's working for you. We want to have presentations on everything to do with BIM—from the first site survey to facilities management and ownership.

Our Goal

Our goal is to deliver a peer-to-peer set of presentations for BIM Spectrum. BIM for Renovations and Retrofits
This hour long webcast is about leveraging BIM and Revit on your renovation and retrofit projects. Using Revit you can improve design visualization, enhance construction and performance predictability, minimize errors by starting with a point cloud and more.

Using Point Clouds in Civil 3D
This 40 minute presentation demonstrates the use of large data sets (point clouds) in AutoCAD® Civil 3D® drawings. We look at what the data is all about, importing the points into the point cloud database and working with the clouds in a drawing (styles and display). Then we demonstrate some of the surface creation tools and see how these clouds can work with other objects in Civil 3D.
