Recently we received a call that the File menu was missing from the top of the Vault 2011 client like this:
We had previously tested a new Windows user login and confirmed that worked, so we knew that the File menu was present and working.
The quickest resolution was to copy a folder from the good profile and replace the same folder for the disrupted profile.
We copied the Objects folder from the working Windows (XP) profile here:
C:\Documents and Settings\<userA>\Application Data\Autodesk\Autodesk Vault Professional 2011\Objects
C:\Documents and Settings\<userB>\Application Data\Autodesk\Autodesk Vault Professional 2011\Objects
We confirmed that worked so that the File menu displays correctly:
This same folder name is used for all Vault Client versions through 2013.
For Windows 7 machines, the Objects folder is located here:
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Autodesk Vault <version>\Objects
