The following can help resolve issues you may be having were your drawing file is lagging or going into not responding while working or saving.
- First try saving the drawing file to the local user computer. If there is no lagging or the software does not go into not responding then you have a network issue which should be assessed by your IT department.
- Create a copy of the project by doing a save as and giving it a different name. Clean the drawing files. Follow all steps in this Autodesk Technical Solution: AutoCAD File Corruption. You Must do this to the main drawing and all xref files. Make sure that you unlock, unfreeze and turn on all layers.
- Take the software back to the out of box settings. This can be done by going to the Start Menu > All Programs > Autodesk > click on your software name > click on Reset Settings to Default. If that doesn't help, uninstall and reinstall your software.
- Inside the software set the system variable FIELDEVAL to 4 instead of the default which is 31.
