Ever have a file from a customer you need to review or have a large file with a large number of Layers you need to evaluate. Finding out what is on each layer is a huge 1st step. This can be made easier with a command called Layer Walk. This command will allow you to step through the Layers and it will turn off the display of all Layers except the one you have selected. So you can essentially walk the Layers.
How to use Layer walk
1.) launch layer Walk
Command line = _.laywalk
Ribbon = Home>(Expand Layer section) Layer Walk
3.) Select them one at a time you will see each layers contents as you highlight each.
-(Restore On Ext) There is a toggle at the bottom that will set the Layers back to the way they were when you launched the command if the check box is checked.
- There is a selection button at the top left that if you pick this button it will allow you to select objects in the file. When you do this and hit the <enter> key it will highlight the Layer these Objects are on.
- you can also check the Filter button to filter Layer names with * , etc. to control the layer list.
