Follow my blog: “How to set up property set tag on a device” before proceeding. To make sure that your device has the appropriate tag attached from the tool palette right click on your device and scroll down to the Tags section and verify the tag is set and is correct.
You can do this one of two ways:
Select all the tags and/or devices in the drawing then from properties in the drop down menu select either the device or multi-view block references. Within the properties palette make the needed changes to the device type or multi-view block reference.
Or you can achieve this through Quick Select from the properties palette. From the properties palette, click on the “Quick Select” icon in the upper left hand corner.
Set the following to filter out your devices;
Apply to: Set this to “Entire drawing”.
Object Type: Set this to “Device” or the name of the item you want to mass change. NOTE: Depending on what you want to change is what Object Type you will select.
Properties: Select from the list something all of the devices have in common. For this example I have selected “Name”. NOTE: Depending on what you want to change is what properties you will select.
Operator and Value: This will be the Property equal to or not equal to the Value I enter for the Device name. If you have selected something different from the Object type or Properties your Value will be different. For this example I entered in the device name. Once those items are selected you can change all the items at once from the properties palette.
