While at our local Revit User Group last month I was approached after the meeting by an "experienced" Revit User. He asked if it was possible to list all of the plumbing and electrical requirements in a industrial kitchen as part of a hospital. The issue, he explained, was that Revit separates families into different categories so that Plumbing Fixtures, Specialty Equipment and Mechanical Equipment all produced separate schedules in Revit. He wanted a way to combine them.
I was surprised he had not heard of Multi-Category schedules, and I wanted a way to easily explain this often overlooked schedule type. This white paper walks through each step of creating a multi-category schedule, as well as pointing out some stumbling blocks.
