Every once and a while your boss asks you to stay later at work on a Friday to finish up some paperwork, get an email out, finish up a model or drawing. Well I got asked to go to Australia, but luckily I had more time than a Friday afternoon to prepare to leave.
As part of the Autodesk University Extension Events, we are holding three mini-conferences in a few Australian office locations (Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide). Two of which we have offices in. Its AU in AU so to speak. Check out the agenda and courses here...http://www.ausummit.com.au.
Don't worry to my North American readers, I will be posting the classes on here throughout the course of the conference so you don't feel left out. So stay tuned for Inventor goodness coupled with some Australian flair. You might notice the Orbit in Inventor spins the opposite way down here.
Over the weekend, I arrived in Australia after what seemed like a day of my life was lost in the air. An 18 hour excursion from snowy northwest Ohio to sunny Melbourne. Its summer down here so I went from 5 degrees F to 40 C which is about 104 degrees on one of the hottest days Australia has seen all year. So I made the most of it and got walkabout in the beuatiful city of Melbourne. Here are two nice shots I got from St. Kilda beach of the Central Business District and a nice resteraunt form the pier.
Throughout my time in Australia, I will be meeting with clients around the three cities talking about Digital Prototyping needs and processes our Australian counterparts are using. Just one more advantage with working with the largest Autodesk reseller is our global perspective and the abiltiy to bring solutions found in different geographies to our local customers. Today alone (keep in mind I am 18 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time), I was able to reduce a long documentation cycle down by 80% by incorporating Inventor Publisher into a company's product portfolio.
