One of the new features of Vault 2018 is the new Application Version file property. This property shows the last time the file was saved and the version that of Inventor that it was saved in.
This information can be very useful when deciding if files should be migrated to the current release, or for troubleshooting a variety of issues relating to publishing DWF files. In any case, it is good information to have.
But is this same information available to users that have not upgraded to Vault 2018? It is available, but you do have to dig for it.
This is a property of the file that can be accessed through iProperties, but not through accessing the iProperties in Autodesk Inventor. To view the information:
- Select the file that in the Windows Explorer.
- Right click and choose "Properties"
- Choose the iProperties tab and selecte the "iProperties" button
- Select the Details tab.
Listed at near the bottom is the information regarding what version the file was created with, and which version is was last updated with.
