Creo Parameteric 3.0 Tip: How to Export the Model Tree

In Creo 3.0, the automatic bill of materials generation within the assembly environment does not include very much information. If you need to include more information and would like to view and edit this BOM in excel, you can setup your model tree as your BOM and then export your model tree.

To do so click the icon,

 

Setup your tree filters,

And your tree columns (there is a dropdown by type, so you can access things like your model parameters there). Highlight what you want to add and click >> to add it as a column to the model tree.

Once your model tree displays with the information you would like to export,

Select the icon and click on save model tree.

 

Your model tree can now be imported into other programs (such as excel) very easily and used as a BOM.
