There is a quick way to clean up unused or isolated features from the specification tree. For example, if you have isolated features in a CATPart model such that reference planes or reference points are no longer linked to any solid geometry, there is a quick way to remove the unlinked features. The Delete Useless Elements tool will delete elements in the part model that do not have any parents or children.
To use this tool:
- Access the Part Design Workbench or Generative Shape Design Workbench.
- Select Tools menu > Delete Useless Elements
3. The Delete Useless Elements dialog box appears, as shown.
Alternatively, you can use the CATIA.StartCommand "Delete Useless Elements..." in order to get the Delete Useless Elements dialog box to appear.
4. By default, the status of each element is set to Delete. If you do not want to delete all viable elements listed, select any element that you want to keep, hold and press down the right mouse button and select the Keep option.
5. Click to confirm the deletion of all elements listed with the Delete status.
