I'm not certain that everyone is aware that Revit 2014 can now do irregular shaped crop regions, so I thought I would show you the basics.
To create an irregular shaped crop region you will need to make sure that the crop region is visible, then select the boundary. On the ribbon you will see the Edit Crop tool on the Mode panel of the Modify tab.
Once you select Edit Crop you will be in sketch mode and you will have the following tools available:
Sadly there is no option for a circle, not even if using the pick tool since it will only snap to straight line segments. But if you use the polygon tool and set the sides to 36 (which is the maximum) it looks close enough to a circle to work!
Once you have modified the crop boundary, when you select it again you will have access to the Reset Crop tool, which like with other similar tools will set it back to it's default shape.
One more thing to note. If you create a callout, and then modify the crop region, the callout will mimic the shape of the new crop boundary.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
There are some significant file size increases that you should be aware are when using irregular crop regions.
I have another blog that addresses that issue here.
Is it true irregular crop region increases the revit file size significantly?

There is a file size increase in some cases. I included a link in the blog now that will take you to the blog related to the increased file size.
