When you keep getting the License Finder Dialog instead of obtaining a network license, sometimes it is quicker and easier just to set the Windows Environment variable. You the Environment Variable to direct the network version of Autodesk programs to a server or a new server, or multiple serves (multiple single servers or distributed servers).
You need to know the servers name or ip address then do the following:
1) Get into the Windows "Control Panel" and click the "System" icon
2) On the left sidebar menu click the "Advanced System Settings" link. This shows Windows 8, but it’s the same steps in Win 8.1, Win 8.0, Win 7, Vista and XP.
3) Click "Environment Variables.
4) Under the "System variables" click New.
5) Add in the server name. I like to use the port 2080 as well so it helps find the server a little quicker. It can help when your ping replies are somewhere between say <1ms to about 50ms. Here we're going to use "server1" and "server2" you'll need to replace it with your actual servers name. Most companies only have one server so you'll only need the one. I've seen up to 19 servers in the list, but you really don't want to do that as it took 25 minutes before the program gave up and gave us an error.
Note: When adding multiple servers use a ; (semicolon) between them.
6) Click "Ok", Verify that it is set it in the window and now it's set!
7) Click "Ok" again and run the program.
If you're still unable to obtain a license, then maybe one of our other blogs will help (see a list of blogs here: http://blogs.rand.com/.services/blog/6a0115711b8d26970b0148c7fe2873970c/search?filter.q=%22license+finder%22
