In the newer versions of the Hatch command it can be difficult to set Island Detection due to the fact that the newer version of the hatch command does not bring up a Dialog. You can still set this by launching settings under the command but this does require an extra step. You can also control this option as a System variable.
How to set Island Detection in the Hatch Command
1.) Launch the hatch command.
2.) Right click and select Settings. (See Figure 1)
3.) Expand the Dialog by using the Arrow at the bottom right. (See Figure 2)
4.) In the upper right select the Island Detection option you want. (Normal, Outer, Ignore) (See Figure 3)
5.) select OK
Your Island detection option is now set.
How to set Island Detection using a System Variable
1.) On the command line type HPISLANDDETECTION and select the <Enter> button on your keyboard.
2.) Type the number of the option you want and select the <Enter> key on the Keyboard.
Your Island detection option is now set.
Island Detection Settings Number Chart
0 Normal. Hatches islands within islands.
1 Outer. Hatches only areas outside of islands.
2 Ignore. Hatches everything within the boundaries.
