In July, Autodesk has released a second update for the Vault Data Standard that applies only to Vault 2016 Workgroup and Professional (not Basic) versions.
Autodesk Vault Data Standard 2016 introduces a data control feature for the Vault Client, Inventor, and AutoCAD that lets administrators enforce the meta-data that is included when a user creates a new file. This data control comes with a fully customizable dialog so administrators can create fields and entry-requirements that meet the needs of their design process.
In addition, Autodesk Data Standard for Vault 2016 provides a new way of copying and replacing components in Inventor assemblies, improved property mapping for AutoCAD DWG properties, easy access to category properties, and a sample task to make managing Vault custom objects easier.
See the Help topic Using Data Standard with the Vault Add-ins for more details about the Vault Data Standard,
This Autodesk Vault Data Standard Update 2 for Vault 2016 Workgroup and Professional addresses the following issues for the Vault server and client as detailed in the Readme file.

Autodesk Vault Data Standard 2016:
Autodesk Vault Data Standard 2016 drives standardization of user data entry for Vault by:
- Capturing relevant information about designs.
- Enforcing a standard user workflow for including mandatory properties, file location, templates, and more.
- Providing administrators with a customizable Vault Data Standard interface that meets individual corporate standards.
HELP:
You can find the administrator's help online. In addition, end user help is available for basic tasks. However, since the Data Standard dialog is fully customizable by the administrator, workflows may differ from those described in the help.

KNOWN ISSUES:
Data Standard:
- If you click the CAD/BOM tab in the Vault Explorer preview and only zeros are displayed, this means that the BOM view in Inventor is not enabled for Vault. Go to the Manage tab in Inventor and open up Bill of Materials. Right-click on the structured tab and select Enable BOM View. The CAD/BOM preview will work now. See the Inventor Help for more information.
- If Data Standard doesn't start properly in Vault Explorer, restart the Vault Client.
- In case the ribbon “Data Standard” is missing in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Mechanical, reload the AutoCAD Customization File “MVFApartialcui.cuix” using the AutoCAD command CUILOAD. The “MVFApartialcui.cuix” is located in folder “C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins\Autodesk DataStandard 2016.bundle\Contents\Resources\en-US”
- When calling the command “Add Part” or “Add Assembly” from the Productivity tools, the dialog for selecting the numbering scheme is not available. Workaround: Disable Data Standard in the Data Standard ribbon tab. Use command “Add Part” or “Add Assembly” as usual. Enable Data Standard again.
- A version of Data Standard might appear two times in the list of installed programs on the control panel. This happens if Data Standard is installed with different language setups. The installation of the program is correct and it will be working correctly.
- The tab “CAD BOM” only works with Inventor components that are marked as “Normal” in the Inventor CAD BOM. Other components might be missing.
- With active Vault numbering schemes, the Data Standard dialog for generated components (like Frame Generator parts) no longer displays the numbering scheme when selecting another component in the Data Standard dialog. The numbering scheme that was first selected is still active.
