If you were working just fine in a drawing that had walls, doors and windows but all of the sudden you open the drawing to work on it and the windows are gone do the following to resolve the issue:
- Open a new out of box template and draw a wall and add windows. If you can see it then it is not your software it is the drawing that is not showing the windows.
- If in a new out of box template you draw a wall and add windows and you cannot see them reset your setting to default by following my blog: Autodesk reset settings to default or uninstall the software and reinstall your AutoCAD Architecture.

- Rotate your drawing to a front, side or back view using your view cube or by going to the View tab on the ribbon> change your appearance to Left, Right Front or Back. If the windows are there go back to the top view.
- Draw a new wall below your existing walls and verify that you cannot add a window to the wall and see it.
- Change your display representation to see if the walls appear.
- Verify your cut plane is correct.
