Autodesk Permissions: What folders need full permissions for each user?

For the Autodesk products, the programs are looking for access to a few specific areas. It is our best practice to allow users full permissions, but where this can't be done, Autodesk software will need full read/write access to:


Registry Entries:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER>SOFTWARE>AUTODESK
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE>SOFTWARE>AUTODESK

Folders:

Win7/Win8.1/10:

  • C:\Program Files\Autodesk
  • C:\ProgramData\Autodesk
  • C:\Users\<the current user>\AppData\Local\Autodesk
  • C:\Users\<the current user>\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk
  • C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared
  • C:\Program Files(x86)\Autodesk
  • C:\Program Files(x86)\Autodesk\Common Files\Autodesk Shared
