In general, the Clarity installer is going to see installing version to version as a “major” upgrade – so expect that it will do effectively an “uninstall” before it starts the install.
Our recommendation to make it easier on the installer (less potential for uninstall issues):
- Stop the Clarity Monitoring Service
- Stop the Clarity AD Sync Service
- Stop the Task Server Tray application
Also:
- Take note of the userId that is used for “Clarity Monitoring Service”, “Clarity AD Sync Service" and the IIS Application Pool – because it may be necessary to reset it.
Preferred steps:
- Install the host update
- Install the task server updates
- Do a force-launch-task server to make sure that the task server updates are pushed to the host
