Issue:
Version 2018 of Autodesk single-user subscriptions may experience an intermittent crash. This crash can happen when it has been more than 24 hours since the last successful authorization check and there is intermittent (example: WiFi) or no internet connection, or the licensing authorization server cannot be contacted. The licensing authorization check occurs in the background and is completely unrelated to activities the user is performing at the time of the crash.Example of Fatal Error

Like most errors of this nature the error is normally followed by a dialog requesting to send the error report.
This affects all users of 2018 product versions on subscription with single-user access, Windows and Mac.
Solution:
Download and install hotfix Autodesk License Service (x64) - 5.1.5 Hotfix 1 or Autodesk License Service (x86) - 5.1.5 Hotfix 1, available via the Autodesk Desktop App (installed on your system) or follow the instructions below.Windows installation:
1.) Based on the software installed download one or both files to complete the ipdate:
Autodesk License Service (x64) – 5.1.5 HotFix 1 (560 Kb)
Autodesk License Service (x86) – 5.1.5 HotFix 1 (1820 Kb)
2.) Make sure to stop all Autodesk products that are running or the install will fail
3.) Double-click the msp file to begin the installation and follow the prompts.
