I had a lot of email questions from my last post on the Factory Command Reference. Most of them were...
"What is Inventor Factory, and how do I get in?"
I responded..."Well, first you need to start eating chocolate bars; cases of chocolate bars. Inside one of those wrappers you may find a golden Serial Number. Show that to them at the door and you will find yourself in a world of magic and wonderment."
This is why I stopped watching Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and trying to write emails in the evening. Inventor Factory is no magical chocolate factory, but what it can do for your factory layouts is not short of just plain awesome.
With Autodesk Factory Design you have two basic flavor of chocolatey goodness; Premium and Advanced. I always have to go back and see what is what in each of these considering the naming. If I asked you what the difference was between Premium and Advanced you might say the moon roof package or the 6 disc CD changer. Not the best names as a differentiator.

Advanced:
Looking at these features you might think that the cost on product suite would be astronomical. Well, its not, in fact its not that much more than a normal seat of Inventor. Its like getting Navisworks and ACAD Architecture for free, and these are not the normal Navis or ACADa, they have special tools just for Factory Design built in.
If you already have your golden Serial Number then you may have already seen the benefits but have not had a lot of jockey time on the software. So here is a nice Quick Start for Factory to get you going.

If you have not seen or played around with this yet, then check out some videos on the Autodesk Factory YouTube channel and the Factory Wiki help that is already up...
